A renovation passport is a new document required by the EPBD Directive 2024. It provides a tailored roadmap for staged deep renovation of a building toward zero-emission by 2050. It includes renovation steps, cost estimates, energy savings and applicable subsidies.
All EU member states must transpose the EPBD directive into national law by May 29, 2026. This means renovation passports, new EPC classes (A+ to G), MEPS and BACS requirements will become mandatory across the EU.
